Overview

Cesium chloride can be used as:
Reagent, in the synthesis of macrocyclic tetralactones by ring-closing metathesis of dienes in the presence of Grubbs catalyst.
Additive, in the synthesis of aromatic amides by palladium-catalyzed selective carbonyl coupling of low-reactivity aromatic acid chlorides with primary, secondary aliphatic amines and aromatic amines.
Activator, low-valent titanium reagent for the reductive coupling of acetophenones.
