Endogenous biotin is widely distributed in various mammalian tissues, with particularly high levels in the liver, lung, spleen, adipose tissue, and brain. Following formalin fixation, endogenous background signals are generally reduced in tissues, but are markedly enhanced in frozen sections. In addition, vigorous antigen retrieval steps can expose endogenous substances (such as the endogenous avidin‑biotin system) in formalin‑fixed tissues. This kit contains endogenous avidin blocking solution and biotin blocking solution, which effectively inhibit the activity of endogenous substances (primarily the endogenous avidin‑biotin system) and are particularly suitable for blocking endogenous background interference in immunohistochemistry (IHC). This reagent is intended for research purposes only and is not for use in clinical diagnosis or other applications.
