7-Nitroindole is a cleavable base analog. 7-nitroindole nucleoside is a photochemical precursor, which is used to specifically generate 2'-deoxyribonolactone oxidative damage sites in DNA strands. 7-Nitroindole can be used for the study of photo-controlled DNA breakage tools.
