Composé pyrimidinyle perméable aux cellules qui présente des propriétés anti-inflammatoires. Il agit comme un inhibiteur puissant, réversible et ATP-compétitif de la c-Jun N-terminal kinase (JNK, IC50 = 150, 220 et 70 nM pour hJNK1, hJNK2 et hJNK3, respectivement) avec une sélectivité de 10 à 100 fois supérieure à celle d'un panel de 25 autres kinases couramment étudiées (IC50 généralement comprise entre 1 et 10 µM ou sans effet à 10 µM). Son efficacité in vivo a été démontrée chez la gerbille, la souris et le rat par administration orale, i.v. ou i.p.
