Lymphocyte proliferation test
Lymphocyte proliferation test
Lymphocyte proliferation test, usually under the stimulation of antigenic substances such as mitogens and other antigenic substances, proliferation, differentiation, transformation into lymphoblastoid cells, also known as lymphocytetransformation test (LTT). At present, there are two main types of lymphocyte proliferation tests: T lymphocyte proliferation test and B lymphocyte proliferation test.
Principle
The basic principle of the lymphocyte proliferation assay is that some substances can specifically or non-specifically induce the activation of lymphocytes, resulting in the secretion of cytokines, the expression of cytokine receptors, and ultimately the proliferation and differentiation of activated lymphocytes. This reaction is usually accompanied by morphological changes, which are characterized by a marked increase in cell size, which is three to four times that of a mature lymphocyte; the chromatin is sparse, with the nucleus visible; the cytoplasm is abundant and vacuoles are formed; these cells are called lymphoblasts. These cells are called lymphoblasts.
