概要
Cytochrome P450 enzymes are a group of isozymes primarily found in the liver and play an important role in the metabolism of xenobiotics, especially drugs and toxins. Cytochrome P450 and cytochrome b5 are the two heme proteins of the P450 enzyme system, and changes in their ratio are closely related to P450 metabolic activity.
Determination Principle: After being reduced by sodium dithionite, oxidized cytochrome b5 exhibits a maximum absorption peak at 424 nm. The content of cytochrome b5 can be calculated by measuring the difference in absorbance between 424 nm and 490 nm.
