EMEM (Eagle's Minimum Essential Medium) is a cell culture medium developed by Harry Eagle in 1959. It is specifically designed to meet the basic nutritional requirements of mammalian cells, containing essential components such as amino acids, vitamins, and inorganic salts. Owing to its simple composition and consistent performance, EMEM is widely used in various cell culture experiments, particularly for cell types that do not require highly enriched nutrients. In addition, EMEM is often employed as a basal medium, to which serum or other supplements are added to support the growth of specific cell types. Precautions 1. This product has been sterilized by filtration. Aseptic techniques must be observed during handling to prevent contamination. 2. To maintain optimal performance, avoid freeze‑thaw cycles. 3. This product is intended for research or further study purposes only; it is not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
