Overview
Lucidenic acid E is a triterpenoid compound derived from Ganoderma lucidum (Reishi mushroom), whose derivative Lucidenic acid E1 exhibits anti-inflammatory activity, while the derivative Lucidenic acid E2 demonstrates multiple biological activities, including anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antiviral, anti-hypercholesterolemic, and antihyperglycemic effects .
Lucidenic acid E can inhibit HMG-CoA reductase (HMGCR) with an IC50 of 42.9 μM, suggesting its potential role in modulating cholesterol biosynthesis .
