Panoramica
Arginine (Arg) is a semi-essential amino acid in humans and animals, playing important physiological roles in processes such as protein synthesis and the production of polyamines and nitric oxide. Arginine contributes to lowering blood pressure, as it can be broken down into nitric oxide in the body, which relaxes the smooth muscle of blood vessel walls, regulates vascular elasticity, and aids in repairing the vascular endothelium. Arginine also stimulates and induces the secretion of adrenal hormones, thereby helping to reduce blood sugar levels and decrease fatty acid production in the body, which can normalize blood sugar in hyperglycemic patients. The detection principle of this assay kit is based on the reaction of arginine with alpha-naphthol and 2,3-butanedione in an alkaline medium to form a red-colored product, which exhibits a characteristic absorption peak at 525 nm. The content of arginine can be calculated by measuring the absorbance at this wavelength.
