Panoramica
β-Xylosidase (EC 3.2.1.37) is found in organisms such as plants, bacteria, and fungi. It is a key enzyme in the degradation of xylan-type hemicellulose, and the resulting product, xylose, can be used as a carbon source in microbial fermentation. In addition, β-xylosidase can be applied as a bio-bleaching agent in the paper industry, which is more environmentally friendly than traditional bleaching methods, offering broad application value.
Determination Principle: β-Xylosidase catalyzes the hydrolysis of p-nitrophenyl-β-D-xyloside to produce p-nitrophenol, which has a characteristic absorption peak at 405 nm. β-Xylosidase activity is calculated by measuring the rate of increase in absorbance at 405 nm.
