Panoramica
Chitin is primarily found in the exoskeletons of crustaceans such as shrimp, crabs, and insects, in the organs of mollusks (e.g., squid cartilage), and in the cell walls of fungi. Chitinase (EC 3.2.1.14) catalyzes the hydrolysis of chitin and plays a role in defending against fungal invasion, making it a focus of research in antifungal disease control. This product is suitable for detecting biological samples such as animal tissues, fungi, and liquids. In this assay kit, chitinase hydrolyzes chitin to produce N-acetyl-D-glucosamine, which further reacts with DNS reagent to form a reddish-brown compound with a characteristic absorption peak at 540 nm. The rate of increase in absorbance value reflects the activity of chitinase.
