Coenzyme Q (CoQ) is a class of lipid-soluble quinone compounds widely present in living organisms, also known as ubiquinone. It mediates proton translocation and electron transfer in the respiratory chain, serving as a key hydrogen carrier. It is an activator of cellular respiration and metabolism, while also possessing antioxidant and non-specific immune-enhancing functions, and can activate various enzymes. The number of isoprene units in the side chain of Coenzyme Q varies depending on the biological source: humans and other mammals contain 10 isoprene units, hence it is referred to as Coenzyme Q10. Coenzyme Q10 is an important member of the Coenzyme Q family, localized in the inner mitochondrial membrane, and widely participates in the body's metabolic processes. Coenzyme Q10 not only provides energy support for the heart but also exhibits outstanding antioxidant effects. It can scavenge free radicals, inhibit vascular wall lipid peroxidation, and prevent atherosclerosis, all without toxic side effects. Its specific effects are mainly reflected in the following four aspects: ① Heart Protection: Coenzyme Q10 helps increase myocardial oxygen supply, prevents sudden heart disease, and plays a key role in improving conditions during myocardial hypoxia. ② Skin Care and Anti-aging: Long-term use of Coenzyme Q10 can effectively delay skin aging and reduce facial wrinkles. ③ Anti-fatigue: Coenzyme Q10 maintains cells in good condition, keeping the body energetic, vigorous, and enhancing brain function. As a natural antioxidant and metabolic activator produced by cells themselves, it protects and restores the structural integrity of biofilm, stabilizes membrane potential, and enhances the body's non-specific immune function, thereby demonstrating significant anti-fatigue effects. ④ Adjuvant Anti-cancer: Research indicates that Coenzyme Q10 possesses certain anti-tumor effects and has shown some efficacy in clinical settings for patients with advanced metastatic cancer. The detection principle of this kit is based on the following: Under alkaline conditions, the Coenzyme Q10 in the test sample reacts with the EC reagent, replacing its methoxy group to form a blue compound. The absorbance value at 620 nm is measured using a microplate reader, and the Coenzyme Q10 content can be quantitatively determined by referencing a standard curve. This product is suitable for detecting Coenzyme Q10 in foods such as peanuts, beef, sardines, and health products. It is intended for research use only and is not suitable for clinical diagnosis or other purposes.
