Panoramica
AsA is an important physiological indicator in plant cells. Changes in its content, redox state (AsA/DHA ratio), and the activities of enzymes involved in its synthesis and metabolism are associated with plant responses to various environmental stresses. DHA is the reversible oxidized form of AsA; in vivo, it constitutes a redox system together with ascorbic acid and functions as an electron acceptor.
Assay principle: DTT reduces DHA to AsA. The DHA content can be calculated by measuring the rate of AsA generation in the system.
