Panoramica
Dehydrogenase (DHA) is a class of enzymes that catalyze oxidation-reduction reactions. It oxidizes substrates through the cytochrome system, releasing energy for use by the organism, representing a key mechanism by which organisms obtain energy.
Determination principle: During cellular respiration, the hydrogen acceptor 2,3,5‑triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) accepts hydrogen under the action of dehydrogenase and is reduced to triphenylformazan (TF), which appears red. The dehydrogenase activity is obtained by measuring its absorbance at 485 nm.
