Il dibenzilfosfito viene utilizzato per la fosforilazione dei fenoli tramite reazione in presenza di N-etildiisopropilammina e DMAP per ottenere il dibenzilfosfato. Viene utilizzato per la preparazione di fenilalchilfosfonammidati che vengono poi utilizzati come sonde per un registro di legame idrofobico nell'antigene di membrana specifico della prostata.
