Endothelial Cell Growth Supplement (ECGS) is a bovine neural tissue extract containing growth factors for mammalian vascular endothelial cells, which can promote the proliferation of Human Umbilical Vein Endothelial Cells (HUVECs). In combination with interleukin (IL-1), ECGS mediates matrix remodeling in Vascular Smooth Muscle Cells (VSMCs). As a cell culture supplement, it also exerts positive effects on the fusion and growth of hybridoma cells for monoclonal antibody production.
Instructions for Use:
ECGS is prepared by modifying the method established by Maciag et al. It is supplied as a lyophilized powder from a sterile solution containing sodium chloride and streptomycin sulfate. Each vial contains 15 mg of total protein. For reconstitution: Add 0.5 mL of sterile PBS or double-distilled water to the vial and mix gently until fully dissolved to prepare a stock solution at 30 mg/mL. Further dilute the stock solution in sterile tissue culture medium to the desired working concentration. The optimal concentration for vascular endothelial cell growth ranges from 10 to 300 μg/mL.
Precautions:
1. After receiving the product, reconstitute it, aliquot into small portions, and store at -20 °C for up to 6 months, or at 2–8 °C for no more than one week. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
2. This product is intended for research use only by professional researchers. It shall not be used for clinical diagnosis, treatment, food production or other purposes.
3. Wear a lab coat and disposable gloves throughout the operation for personal safety and health protection.
