ROS Probe, HPF is a cell-permeable, photo-stable hydroxyphenyl-substituted fluorescein compound that acts as a highly sensitive fluorescent probe for the detection of hydroxyl radical and peroxynitrite. The compound has little activity towards other reactive oxygen species (ROS), such as hypochlorite, singlet oxygen, superoxide, hydrogen peroxide, nitric oxide and alkyl peroxide.
Purpose
Hydroxyphenyl fluorescein (HPF) is the reagent that can directly detect highly reactive oxygen species (hROS). Hydroxyphenyl fluorescein selectively and dose-dependently reacts with hROS, such as the hydroxyl radical and peroxynitrite, which exhibit strong fluorescence
