Insulin Degludec is an ultra‑long‑acting insulin analog used for research on hyperglycemia caused by type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus. The IC₅₀ value for insulin receptor binding is 19.59 nM (*in‑house assay data). It can be applied in research of type 1 and type 2 diabetes mellitus.
Structure:
Insulin degludec consists of two peptide chains. The A‑chain is identical to human insulin A‑chain with 21 amino‑acid residues. The B‑chain lacks threonine at position B30 compared with human insulin, containing 29 amino‑acid residues. The ε‑amino group of lysine at position B29 is conjugated to hexadecanedioic acid via a γ‑L‑glutamic acid linker.
