Overview

Used for chemiluminescence analysis, such as in the analysis of metal cations, blood, and glucocorticoids; it can also be used in vivo to image bone marrow peroxidase activity.
Luminol sodium salt is a chemiluminescent substance with pKa values ​​of 6.74 and 15.1. The optimal fluorescence wavelength for  Luminol sodium salt is 425 nm.  Luminol sodium salt is commonly used as a diagnostic tool in forensic bloodstain detection and has applications in criminal investigation, bioengineering, and chemical tracing.
Applications
Luminol sodium salt has been used for:
1. As a component of MEBSS buffer in bioluminescent assays to detect peroxidase activity in whole blood samples;
2. Immunoprecipitation analysis of protein interactions in whole cell lysates;

3. Quantification of reactive oxygen species (ROS) in CD45+ and CD45− cells in vitro.
