Panoramica

Pectin Lyase (EC 4.2.2.10) is an important component of pectinase enzymes. It is a depolymerizing enzyme that degrades plant cell walls, leading to the softening and even death of plant tissues. It has a wide range of sources, primarily derived from microorganisms. It can be used for the clarification of fruit juices and wines, improving the juice yield of fruits, the purification of plant viruses, the bleaching of paper pulp, and the bio-scouring of textiles. It holds potential application value in reducing environmental pollution and lowering energy consumption. This product provides a simple, convenient, and rapid method for assaying PL activity, suitable for samples such as plant tissues, bacteria, fungi, and culture medium. Its principle is that pectin lyase acts on the α-1,4 glycosidic bonds in pectin, generating unsaturated oligogalacturonides with an unsaturated bond between the C4 and C5 positions at the reducing end, which has a characteristic absorption peak at 235 nm.
