Phosphate acetyltransferase (PTA, EC 2.3.1.8) is a key enzyme involved in acetate metabolism.
Phosphate acetyltransferase catalyzes the reaction between coenzyme A and acetyl phosphate to produce acetyl-CoA and inorganic phosphate. The activity of PTA is determined by measuring the increase in inorganic phosphate using the ammonium molybdate method.
