Panoramica

Conventional cytological staining methods include Papanicolaou staining, Rakoff staining, Giemsa staining and so on. Both Papanicolaou staining and Rakoff staining can be used to detect and evaluate the estrogen level of vaginal epithelial cells. This reagent is for research use only and shall not be applied for clinical diagnosis or other purposes.

Composed of Light Green, Eosin and other components, Rakoff Staining Solution features simple operation and is commonly adopted for rapid staining of clinical vaginal cytological smears.

Required Materials

1.Cell brush, test tube, glass slide

2.Normal saline

Operating Procedures (For reference only)

1.Scrape mucosal squamous epithelial cells from the lateral vaginal wall with a cell brush, then place the cells into a test tube containing 1~2 mL normal saline.

2.Add 3~5 drops of Rakoff Stain into the test tube and mix gently.

3.Pipette 1~2 drops of the mixture onto a glass slide to prepare a cell smear.

4.Allow the smear to air-dry, then mount with neutral balsam.

Precautions

1.Ensure uniform cell distribution when preparing smears.

2.Use the reagent as soon as possible after opening to avoid compromised staining performance.

3.Wear a lab coat and disposable gloves during operation for personal safety and health protection.
