Panoramica
Soluble starch synthase (SSS, EC 2.4.1.21) usually exists in a free state within the plastid stroma. It catalyzes the elongation of starch chains and is primarily responsible for the synthesis of amylopectin. This product is suitable for detecting plant tissue samples. In this kit, SSS catalyzes the reaction between ADPG and a starch primer (glucan), transferring a glucose molecule to the starch primer while simultaneously generating ADP. Subsequently, through the sequential action of pyruvate kinase, hexokinase, and glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase added to the reaction system, NADP⁺ is reduced to NADPH. The amount of NADPH generated is proportional to the amount of ADP produced in the preceding reaction. By measuring the increase in NADPH at 340 nm, SSS activity can be calculated.
