Panoramica
THL (EC 3.2.1.28) is widely present in animals, plants, microorganisms, and cultured cells. The primary function of trehalase is to hydrolyze trehalose into glucose, which is directly utilized for energy supply.
Determination Principle: THL catalyzes the hydrolysis of trehalose to produce glucose. Glucose oxidase catalyzes the oxidation of glucose to gluconic acid, producing hydrogen peroxide. Peroxidase catalyzes the oxidation of 4-aminoantipyrine coupled with phenol by hydrogen peroxide, forming a colored compound with a characteristic absorption peak at 505 nm, which reflects THL activity.
