Overview

Tylvalosin is a new macrolide antibiotic. Tylvalosin also is characterized as an enzyme inhibitor. Tylvalosin was introduced to the clinical setting as a tool for treating porcine respiratory diseases. Tylvalosin now functions as an anti-infective therapeutic, that may promote the resolution of inflammation in pigs. The immune modulating effects of Tylvalosin are still being investigated.
