Bacillus cereus Medium (BCM) (Powder)

Directions per Liter:

Suspend 41g of the medium in 950ml of purified water. Heat with frequent agitation and boil for one minute to completely dissolve the medium. Autoclave for 15 minutes at 121ºC (15psi). Cool to 45-50°C. Aseptically add 50ml of a sterile egg yolk suspension and 2ml of a filter sterilized aqueous solution of polymyxin B.

Storage and Stability:

Store powdered media at RT. Opened bottles should be capped tightly and kept in a dark, low humidity environment. Prepared media should be kept refrigerated and used within a short period of time.
