Urobilinogen reacts with p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde in an acidic solution to form a red compound.

Move

I. Experimental reagents:

1, p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde reagent, p-dimethylaminobenzaldehyde 2 g dissolved in 80 ml of distilled water slowly added to the concentrated HCL 20 ml, stored in a brown bottle.

2, 100g / L. BaCl2 reagent

II. Experimental operation:

1, urine containing Bil should be removed (take 100g / L CaCl2 a copy of the urine mixed with 4 copies, centrifugal precipitation to take the supernatant spare.)

2, take fresh bil-free urine 2 ml plus urine bile reagent 0.2 ml, stand for 10 minutes, observe the results.

Third, the results of experimental judgment:

(+ + + +): deep purplish red

(+ + +) : cherry red color after 10 mins.

Weakly positive (+): pink color after 10 minutes of exposure

Negative (-): no red color against a white background, still no red color after warming up

Positive in the (+ +) above should be 1:10, 1:20, 1:40, 1:80, 1:160 dilution to the highest dilution (+) reported normal 1:20 or less.

Caveat

1, must be fresh urine, long standing after the oxidation of urinary choline for bile was false negative.

2, the test can be with a variety of drugs and endogenous substances such as porphobilinogen, etc. to produce interference with the color.
