Overview

CSPD is a chemiluminescent substrate for alkaline phosphatase, used for protein or nucleic acid blotting on nitrocellulose membranes. These substrates can also be employed in solution-based assays. The CSPD chemiluminescent substrate enables the detection of alkaline phosphatase and alkaline phosphatase-labeled molecules with exceptional sensitivity, speed, and ease of use. It serves as a highly sensitive alternative to widely used fluorescent substrates like methylumbelliferyl phosphate (MUP) and chromogenic substrates such as p-nitrophenyl phosphate (pNPP). The combination of low background luminescence and high-intensity light output allows for the detection of alkaline phosphatase-labeled molecules with the highest possible sensitivity and signal-to-noise ratio. This versatile chemiluminescent substrate demonstrates high sensitivity in membrane-based applications, such as Southern, Northern, and Western blotting. It is also suitable for solution-based assays, including immunoassays, DNA probe tests, enzyme assays, and reporter gene detection. Maximum luminescence is reached within approximately 10 minutes, with light emission persisting for several hours. Solution-based assays require a chemiluminescence enhancer, while membrane-based assays may also need this reagent to enhance light output and sensitivity.
