Leibovitz's L-15 medium utilizes a buffering system composed of phosphates and free‑base amino acids, replacing the conventional sodium bicarbonate buffer system. In addition, it substitutes galactose and sodium pyruvate for glucose to prevent the formation of acidic metabolic by‑products, thereby helping to maintain a stable pH in the culture medium. This makes it suitable for cell culture under non‑CO₂‑equilibrated environments. Leibovitz's L‑15 medium is applicable for the culture of monkey kidney cells and HEP‑2 cells, isolation of primary cells (e.g., from embryonic and adult tissues), culture of various viruses, and neuronal culture, among others. This product contains multiple components required for cell culture, including amino acids, vitamins, inorganic salts, etc.; however, it contains no proteins, lipids, or any growth factors. Therefore, this product must be used with serum or serum‑free supplements. Precautions 1. This product has been sterilized by filtration. Aseptic techniques must be observed during handling to prevent contamination. 2. To maintain optimal performance, avoid freeze‑thaw cycles. 3. This product is intended for research or further study purposes only; it is not for diagnostic or therapeutic use.
