Hydrogels are a class of highly hydrophilic three-dimensional network-structured gels that can rapidly absorb water and swell without dissolving in it. When combined with water, hydrogels typically exhibit a high degree of swelling. However, swelling can reduce the mechanical properties of hydrogels. Moreover, uncontrolled swelling may cause damage to surrounding tissues when implanted in vivo; for example, excessive swelling of dura mater or spinal dura mater patches can lead to nerve damage.
The low-swelling hydrogel is a sterile, ready-to-use low-swelling hydrogel solution. This product controls the swelling degree of the hydrogel by introducing hydrophobic polymer components, thereby broadening the application scenarios of hydrogels.
