A psammaplina A é um antibiótico, anti-tumoral, inibidor da DNA metiltransferase (Dnmt). É um conjugado simétrico da cistamina, derivado da bromotirosina, que foi isolado pela primeira vez da esponja Psammaplinaplysilla. Impede a angiogénese, bem como o crescimento bacteriano e das células tumorais.
