O fator de necrose tumoral alfa (TNF-alfa), também conhecido como TNF, TNFA ou TNFSF2, é a citocina prototípica da superfamília do TNF e é uma molécula multifuncional envolvida na regulação de um vasto espetro de processos biológicos, incluindo a proliferação celular, a diferenciação, a apoptose, o metabolismo lipídico e a coagulação. Dois receptores, TNF-R1 (recetor de TNF tipo 1; CD120a; p55/60) e TNF-R2 (recetor de TNF tipo 2; CD120b; p75/80), ligam-se ao TNF-alfa. A proteína TNF-alfa é produzida principalmente pelos macrófagos e grandes quantidades desta citocina são libertadas em resposta ao lipopolissacárido, a outros produtos bacterianos e à interleucina-1 (IL-1). O TNF-alfa está envolvido na luta contra a tumorigénese, pelo que é considerado como uma visão molecular no tratamento do cancro.

We recommend that this vial be briefly centrifuged prior to opening to bring the contents to the bottom. Reconstitute at 1.0 mg/mL in sterile distilled water. Stock solutions should be apportioned into working aliquots and stored at ≤ -20 °C. Further dilutions should be made in appropriate buffered solutions.
