1. Coloring:

Silver plating, hematoxylin re-staining (shows nuclei)

2. Visualization by naked eye:

The mesentery was brownish-yellow in color, with uneven shades of color due to the varying thickness of the spreads. The blood vessels in it were stained dark brown, varying in thickness and crisscrossing.

3. low magnification observation:

The surface of the mesentery was covered by a single layer of flattened epithelium (mesothelium), with mesothelial cells tightly contiguous, with irregular dark brown thin lines between the cells. Blood vessels and their branches are darkly colored. Select the area without blood vessels and with clear staining, move it to the center of the field of view, and turn it to high magnification for observation.

4. High magnification observation:

The mesothelial cells are irregularly shaped or polygonal with similar size. The edges of the cells are jagged, neighboring cells are embedded in each other, and the junction is dark brown.
The nucleus was located in the center of the cell, ovoid in shape, and light blue in color (some nuclei were less clear due to discoloration). Turning the fine regulator, the nuclei of another layer of cells are visible in a different plane, possibly cells of the connective tissue of the deeper side of the mesentery or the mesothelium overlying the other side.
