The medial subcutaneous cephalic vein was chosen for the forelimb, located in the anterior part of the forelimb and traveling medially in the lower 1/3; the lateral saphenous vein was chosen for the hindlimb, located in the lateral part of the tarsus and subcutaneously 5-10 cm above the tarsus, traveling obliquely from anterior to posteriorly superior. When collecting blood, the dog was first immobilized, and a tourniquet was tied above the puncture site to fill the vein. The operator holds a syringe to collect blood.
