Overview

β‑glucanase is produced by refined extraction via submerged aerobic fermentation from high-yield Trichoderma strains obtained through mutation and screening. This product is widely used in beer, feed, sucrose, papermaking, plant resistance to fungal diseases, and other fields.

Mechanism
Broadly speaking, β‑glucanase is a general term for all enzymes that decompose glucose polymers linked by β‑glycosidic bonds. It includes 1,3‑1,4‑β‑glucanase, 1,3‑β‑glucanase, 1,2‑1,4‑β‑glucanase, 1,4‑β‑glucanase, and 1,3‑1,6‑β‑glucanase, which are classified into endo‑ and exo‑types according to their mode of action. This enzyme degrades β‑glucan into low‑molecular‑weight fragments, reducing its hydrophilicity and viscosity.
Product Characteristics
  1. Temperature range: Effective at 30–70℃, with an optimal temperature of 50–60℃. It retains relatively high activity at 60–70℃ for short periods (<30 min).
  2. pH range: Effective at pH 3.5–5.5, with an optimal pH range of 4.8–5.5.
  3. Effect of metal ions on enzyme activity: Cu²⁺, Mn²⁺ and Fe³⁺ inhibit the enzyme, while Zn²⁺ and Co²⁺ activate it.
Application Method
  1. Beer production: Add at the beginning of saccharification. Recommended dosage: 0.02–0.1 kg/t of malt (enzyme activity calculated as 50,000 U/g, the same below). It effectively reduces wort viscosity, accelerates filtration, improves malt extraction rate, and enhances beer sensory properties.
  2. Compound feed enzymes: Recommended dosage in complete feed: 0.008–0.04 kg/t. It reduces the viscosity of intestinal contents in animals, eliminates anti‑nutritional factors, and improves animal growth performance.
  3. Sucrose industry: Used when sugar solution becomes highly viscous, difficult to filter or crystallize due to microbial contamination. Recommended initial trial dosage: 0.02 kg/t on dry basis.
  4. Other industries: Dosage depends on substrate concentration and operating conditions. Small‑scale trials under professional technical guidance are recommended.
Storage

This product is a biologically active substance. High temperature, strong acids and strong alkalis may cause inactivation. Protect from direct sunlight and store in a cool, dry place.
