Q1. Can I use HPLC grade instead of pesticide residue grade?

Sometimes for LC-MS pesticide work, yes; for GC-ECD pesticide screens, it’s risky because HPLC grade isn’t controlled for ECD-active traces. Run blanks if you must.


Q2. Do I need pesticide grade for all steps?

Use it for any step that touches the final extract injected onto GC/LC (extraction, dSPE elution, concentration, final diluent, standard prep). That’s where backgrounds matter most under SANTE AQC.
