Morphologic observation experiment on lobar pneumonia

Summary

This experiment is from the official website of the Fourth Military Medical University

Operation method

Morphologic observation experiment on lobar pneumonia

Materials and Instruments

Gross specimen Tissue section

Move

1. Broad specimens

The lesion lung lobe is swollen in volume, the pleura is tense and full in appearance, and there is brown flaky fibrous exudation on the pleural surface. The section shows that the lesion has lost the normal spongy structure of the lung tissue, and the texture has become solid like liver, with a grayish color.

2. Tissue section

(1) The alveolar lumen has lost its air-containing state and is filled with a large number of fibrin and neutrophilic leukocytes, and there is no obvious congestion of the capillaries of the alveolar wall. Some of the cellulose is connected to the cellulose in the adjacent alveoli through the interalveolar pores.

(2) The epithelium of the bronchial mucosa was partially detached, and the walls were congested and edematous, but the inflammatory infiltration was mild.

(3) The pleural surface was infiltrated with fibrin and neutrophilic leukocytes.

Common Problems

Diagnostic Points:
1. The lesion is diffuse and becomes solid in texture like liver.

2. large amounts of fibrin and neutrophilic exudate are seen in the alveolar lumen.
