This product is a ready-to-use sterile solution prepared by dissolving polyethylene glycol (PEG3350) in a phosphate buffer system and sterilized by membrane filtration. PEG can modify cell membrane structure, promoting the dispersion and rearrangement of lipid molecules at cell contact sites, thereby mediating cell fusion through lipid bilayer affinity and surface tension. Additionally, PEG can alter cell membrane permeability to facilitate exogenous DNA delivery. This product is suitable for applications including protoplast fusion, yeast competent cell transformation, and nucleic acid/protein precipitation and concentration. It is not recommended for hybridoma cell fusion. For research use only. Not for clinical diagnosis. Important Note This product generally remains as a clear, flowable liquid when stored at 2–8°C. If the temperature approaches 0°C, viscosity may increase; this can be reversed by warming in a 37–55°C water bath. Do not freeze at –20°C.
Comprehensive hazard, handling, storage, and regulatory compliance document.
