Overview

Peridinin-Chlorophyll-Protein (PerCP) is a peridinin-chlorophyll-protein complex with a molecular weight of 35.5 kDa, isolated from Dinophyceae sp. It features a broad excitation spectrum with a main peak at 482 nm, a large Stokes shift, and its maximum emission peak is at 677 nm. PerCP and its conjugates are large complexes suitable for cell surface labeling techniques (e.g., flow cytometry).

Product Properties

  • Molecular Weight: Approximately 35,500 Daltons
  • Quantification: For accurate quantification of PerCP, we recommend using its extinction coefficient (i.e., [PerCP] = 0.086 × A482, where [PerCP] is the concentration in mg/ml, and A482 is the absorbance at 482 nm with a control range of 0.3–0.8).
  • Purity: A482/A280 > 4.0
  • Excitation Wavelength: 488 nm
  • Form: Ammonium sulfate precipitate

See the figure below for the absorption and emission spectra

hipping and Storage

  • Storage Conditions: Store at 2–8°C in the dark; do not freeze.
  • Stability: Stable for at least 12 months under appropriate storage conditions.
