Pyronin Y Staining Solution (0.5%) is a basic cationic dye that selectively binds to RNA, imparting a red coloration. It is commonly employed in conjunction with Methyl Green as the Methyl Green-Pyronin Y staining system, which enables the differential visualization of DNA and RNA within cells. Regions enriched in RNA, such as the cytoplasm and nucleoli, exhibit a bright red color, making this staining solution suitable for the localization of RNA distribution, assessment of apoptosis, and microscopic examination of nucleic acids in cell smears and tissue sections. Note: Staining performance is highly pH-dependent, with slightly acidic conditions being optimal for reliable results. The dye is prone to oxidation; therefore, stained specimens should be examined promptly. This product is an irritant; appropriate personal protective equipment (gloves) should be worn during handling, and contact with skin, eyes, and mucous membranes should be strictly avoided. For research use exclusively. Not intended for clinical diagnostic applications.
