Brain tissue samples are difficult to obtain, especially those from certain disease models or treated with specific drugs, which pose even greater challenges. When observing and analyzing brain tissue, the unpredictability of experimental results and the variability of experimental protocols mean researchers often need additional brain sections for supplementary tests. Therefore, a low-cost section cryopreservation solution that can preserve brain sections intact without requiring a low-temperature refrigerator becomes particularly important.
Frozen Section Cryopreservation Solution, also known as Tissue Section Cryopreservation Solution, Section Cryopreservation Solution, Section Antifreeze Solution, or Section Antifreeze Buffer (AFB), is used for the long-term frozen storage of frozen sections. It can preserve the antigen components and enzyme activity of tissue sections for an extended period, making it an excellent method for preserving frozen sections in the field of morphological research. This product consists of sucrose, polyvinylpyrrolidone, ethylene glycol, phosphate, and other components, and requires low-temperature frozen storage. Due to the presence of antifreeze agents such as sucrose and ethylene glycol, tissue sections will not freeze or form ice crystals at -20°C and can be preserved intact for at least 6 months. This reagent is for research use only and not intended for clinical diagnosis or other purposes.
Operating Procedures (for reference only)
1. Add 1-2 ml of Frozen Section Cryopreservation Solution to a 24-well plate or 48-well plate.
2. After embedding the tissue with OCT freezing embedding medium and sectioning, collect the cut sections into the well plate using a pre-cooled fine brush, and store the plate at -20°C.
3. Before the experiment, remove the well plate from -20°C, let it stand at room temperature for approximately 10 minutes. Add PBS pre-cooled to 4°C and rinse at room temperature for 10 minutes, then add PBS stored at room temperature and rinse twice, 5 minutes each time. After rinsing, the corresponding staining operation can be performed.
Precautions
1. This product contains sucrose and cannot be stored above 0°C for a long time. Do not use it if mold grows or flocculent substances appear.
2. Please use the reagent as soon as possible after opening.
3. For your safety and health, wear a lab coat and disposable gloves during operation.
