Shipping Policy
Where we ship from, which countries we deliver to, what shipping costs, how dangerous goods and cold-chain products travel, and what to do when your parcel arrives.

- Same-day dispatch for stock items, as a rule, when ordered on a working day before the cut-off time [●]. All delivery dates are estimates unless we confirm them in text form.
- Dangerous goods and cold chain ship under ADR / IATA DGR rules with a surcharge shown in your basket; dry-ice shipments cannot be returned.
- Check your delivery on arrival. Note any damage with the carrier and report shortages, damage or wrong items within 5 working days.
Where we ship from and where we deliver
- Dispatch location
- Orders placed through the European store views are fulfilled by Aladdin Biochem Deutschland GmbH from our warehouse in Büren, North Rhine-Westphalia [to confirm: additional EU warehouse]. Products not stocked in Büren are supplied from our warehouse in Ireland (an intra-EU movement without customs clearance) or from the United States; for US shipments we act as importer, handle customs clearance and show the expected delivery time separately in your order confirmation (§ 19 (7) of the Terms and Conditions of Sale).
- Delivery area
- All member states of the European Union. Deliveries to Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and other countries outside the EU are arranged by quotation – see § 08 below.
- Addresses
- We deliver to business, institute and laboratory addresses only. We cannot deliver to PO boxes, parcel lockers or private residential addresses.
Delivery terms, carriers and risk
- Incoterms
- Unless agreed otherwise, we deliver CPT (Incoterms 2020) to the delivery address you give us [to confirm – decision D7]. We select the carrier and organise transport; the shipping cost is shown separately in your basket and on the invoice.
- Passing of risk
- Under § 5 of our Terms and Conditions of Sale, the risk of loss or damage passes to you when we hand the goods to the carrier, even where we pay the freight. If something goes wrong in transit, we help you with the carrier claim – see § 07.
- Transport insurance
- Available on request and at your cost. Ask for it in the order comments or when requesting a quote.
- Carriers
- Parcel services (for example DHL, UPS, FedEx) for standard shipments; specialised dangerous-goods forwarders for ADR-regulated consignments [to confirm: carrier list].
Shipping costs and surcharges
Shipping costs depend on destination country, weight and the transport class of the goods. The exact amount is shown in your basket before you place the order. All amounts are in euro and exclusive of VAT.

Delivery times
- Stock items
- Orders received on a working day (Monday to Friday, excluding public holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia) before [●] CET/CEST normally ship the same day. Typical transit: 1–2 working days within Germany, 2–5 working days in the rest of the EU [to confirm].
- Non-stock and made-to-order items
- The expected dispatch date is shown on the product page and confirmed in your order confirmation.
- Items supplied from Ireland
- Add 2–4 working days [to confirm]; no customs clearance within the EU.
- Items supplied from the United States
- Add transatlantic transport and customs clearance; the order confirmation states the expected delivery time for these lines.
- Restricted products
- Delivery starts only once the declarations required under § 11 of our Terms and Conditions of Sale have been received and approved.
Dangerous goods, cold chain and documentation
- Dangerous goods
- Hazardous chemicals are classified, packed, labelled and documented under ADR (road), IATA DGR (air) and IMDG (sea). Where the limited-quantity or excepted-quantity provisions apply, we use them to keep surcharges low. Some products can only travel by road and some cannot be shipped to certain destinations.
- Cold chain
- Temperature-sensitive products ship with gel packs or dry ice in insulated packaging. Please make sure someone is available to receive them and move them to the correct storage immediately. Dry-ice and cold-chain products cannot be returned.
- Safety data sheets and labels
- For every hazardous product we provide a safety data sheet electronically (download or email) in the official language of the member state of delivery (Art. 31 (5) REACH); the product carries a CLP label in that language. Safety data sheets and certificates of analysis can be downloaded from the product page.
- Your obligations on receipt
- Store and handle products according to the safety data sheet and your local rules on hazardous substances. Only trained staff should open dangerous-goods packages.
Availability, substitutions and partial deliveries
- Out-of-stock items
- If an item is unavailable or delayed, we tell you without delay and give you a new expected date. As a courtesy, you may cancel the affected line free of charge as long as it has not shipped.
- Substitutions
- We never substitute a product without your consent. Where an equivalent grade or pack size is available, we propose it and ship only after you accept.
- Partial deliveries
- We may ship available items first and the remainder later, provided this is reasonable for you and the remaining delivery is assured (§ 5 (4) of the Terms and Conditions of Sale). You pay the freight for the first consignment only unless agreed otherwise.
Receiving your delivery and reporting problems
- Check the outer packaging before signing. If the parcel is damaged, leaking or incomplete, note it on the carrier's delivery record or refuse the consignment.
- Inspect the contents within 5 working days of delivery. Compare the delivery note with the goods and check for breakage, leakage or wrong items.
- Report problems through a support ticket quoting the order number, article number and batch, with photos where possible. Obvious defects, shortages and wrong deliveries must be reported within 5 working days of delivery, hidden defects within 5 working days of discovery (§ 377 HGB and § 8 of our Terms and Conditions of Sale).
- Keep the goods and packaging until we have told you how to proceed. Do not use goods you have complained about unless we agree.
Deliveries outside the European Union
Orders for destinations outside the EU are handled by quotation and prepayment unless a payment term has been agreed (§ 19 of our Terms and Conditions of Sale).
- EEA and Switzerland
- Delivered FCA Büren or CPT [to confirm]; we file the export declaration. You handle import clearance, import VAT and duties. Safety data sheets for non-EU deliveries are provided in English; German, French or Italian versions for Switzerland on request and by separate agreement (§ 19 (5) of the Terms and Conditions of Sale).
- United Kingdom
- Delivered FCA Büren or CPT (Incoterms 2020) [to confirm – decision D7]; the contracting entity for the UK store view is still to be decided [decision D2]. UK REACH and GB CLP obligations rest with the UK importer; we supply the data you need. Northern Ireland follows EU goods rules.
- Other countries
- Delivered FCA or CPT. You are responsible for import licences, chemical registration and labelling in the destination country. Safety data sheets are provided in English. Every consignment is screened under EU, German and – for US-origin goods – US export-control and sanctions law, and may require a BAFA licence; the review period extends the delivery time.
- Returns from outside the EU
- Non-defective goods cannot be returned from third countries. For justified defect claims we issue a credit note or replacement instead of a return shipment.
