Has been used to monitor intracellular pH changes in mammalian fibroblasts, gastric cells, lymphocytes, myocytes, and distal convoluted tubules. Typical loading buffer contains 1-10 µM BCECF/AM in serum-free medium that is free of amino acids and buffers containing primary or secondary amines.
