Glutamine (Gln) is a relatively abundant amino acid. It is synthesized through the condensation reaction of glutamic acid and ammonia and is classified as a non-essential amino acid. It plays an important role in protein synthesis, acid-base balance, and anabolic processes.
This kit provides a rapid and sensitive method for detecting glutamine. It utilizes glutaminase to convert glutamine into glutamate. Glutamate dehydrogenase then specifically acts on the produced glutamate, simultaneously causing the generated substance to further react with a chromogenic agent to form a yellow compound. This yellow compound has a maximum absorption peak at 450 nm, thereby allowing the determination of glutamine (Gln) content.
