Overview
Monodehydroascorbate reductase (MDHAR) catalyzes the reduction of monodehydroascorbate (MDHA) to regenerate ascorbic acid (AsA), playing an important role in ascorbate redox metabolism.
The principle of this kit is as follows: MDHAR catalyzes the NADH-dependent reduction of MDHA to AsA and NAD⁺. NADH exhibits a characteristic absorbance peak at 340 nm, whereas NAD⁺ does not. By measuring the rate of decrease in absorbance at 340 nm, the MDHAR enzyme activity can be calculated.
