el cloruro de (3-acrilamidopropil)trimetilamonio (APTAC) es un monómero catiónico de amonio cuaternario de alta solubilidad en agua. Se somete a una rápida polimerización catiónica debido a la presencia de una carga positiva permanente. Se utiliza en el campo de los revestimientos sensibles a los estímulos, los biosensores, los sistemas de administración de fármacos, los dispositivos médicos, las lentes de contacto, los compuestos dentales, la cicatrización de heridas, las membranas de intercambio iónico para el tratamiento del agua y los andamios tridimensionales de polímeros para la ingeniería de tejidos.


Aplicaciones

puede utilizarse una solución de cloruro de (3-acrilamidopropil)trimetilamonio:
Como monómero catiónico para sintetizar hidrogeles poliamfolíticos (PAH). Estos hidrogeles muestran un comportamiento sensible al pH y a la fuerza iónica y son adecuados para su aplicación en recubrimientos inteligentes y biosensores.
Como monómero para preparar membranas de intercambio iónico de poli(APTAC) con alta porosidad superficial, para la eliminación de iones Cu(II), Cr(VI) y As(V) del agua.
Como precursor para fabricar andamios de polímeros miméticos del cartílago que pueden utilizarse en la regeneración y sustitución del cartílago.
