ATTO Rho14 ist ein neues, auf der Struktur der Rhodamine basierendes Fluoreszenzlabel. Der Farbstoff zeigt eine in diesem Wellenlängenbereich unerreichte Fluoreszenzeffizienz sowie eine exzellente Photostabilität. Absorption und Fluoreszenz sind im pH-Bereich von 2 - 11 pH-unabhängig. ATTO Rho14 ist ein kationischer Farbstoff. Nach der Kopplung an ein Substrat ist der Farbstoff einfach positiv geladen. ATTO Rho14 ist mäßig hydrophil. Die Anregung der Fluoreszenz erfolgt im Bereich 610 - 645 nm. Für den Farbstoff geeignete Anregungslichtquellen sind der HeNe-Laser (633 nm) oder gängige Diodenlaser mit Emission bei 635 nm.
