(+)-Erinacin A can induce cancer cell death by activating extrinsic and intrinsic apoptosis pathways. (+)-Erinacin A can also inhibit the expression of NO synthase ( iNOS ) and the production of nitrotyrosine to exert inflammatory and neuroprotective effects, thereby reducing ischemic brain damage.
