Animal model of cryptorchid penis

Summary

Concealed penis (concealed penis) refers to the penis hidden in the soft tissue under the pubic symphysis due to various reasons, and the appearance is seen as short penis, mainly including buried penis, hidden penis, webbed penis, etc., and its etiology and pathological changes are congenital. The model of cryptorchid penis is suitable for rats. Currently, there is 1 method to prepare an animal model of cryptorchid penis: preparation by surgical method.

Operation method

Establishment of an animal model of cryptorchid penis

Materials and Instruments

Equipment:
① Common surgical instruments
② Suture
Reagents:
① Phenobarbital sodium.

Move

(I) Penile root internal purse-string suture
A. Anesthetize the rats by intraperitoneal injection of 0.3% phenobarbital sodium.
B. Take the root of the penis of the rats in the 6 o'clock position of the thoracic knee position, and make a transverse incision of 3~5 mm in length. Use a small non-invasive suture needle with a 3-0 common suture, and insert the needle into one side of the incision to wrap around the root of penis for one week, and then take the needle out of the other side of the incision, with the knot tying inside the incision.
C. Lift up the ends of the suture with both hands when tying the knot, and an assistant helps to push the entire penile trunk downward so that the entire penile trunk lies below the suture plane. The assistant helps to push the penile trunk downward, so that the whole penile trunk is located below the plane of the suture, and then tighten the suture, adjust the tightness, and tie the knot.
(B) Penile foreskin folding suture
A. Anesthetize rats with 0.3% phenobarbital sodium by intraperitoneal injection.
B. Using a small non-invasive suture needle with 3-0 common suture, enter the needle from the coronal sulcus of the penis at the equivalent of 2 o'clock, and then run vertically downward and close to the surface of the penile leucomalacia, and then exit the needle from the root of the penis.
C. Thread a needle through the other end of the suture line, enter the needle from the coronal sulcus of the penis at the equivalent of 4 o'clock, and then exit the needle from the root of the penis.
D. Thread the needle through a subcutaneous tunnel to the previous exit hole. tunnel to exit the needle at the previous exit hole, tighten the suture and knot it in the hole.
E. Perform the same maneuver at 8 and 10 o'clock in the coronal groove of the penis.

Caveat

1. Check the encapsulation status of the animals twice a week, push the foreskin ventrally and push the penis stem outward at the root of the penis at the same time, and the encapsulation is successful if the head of the penis can not be exposed or can only be exposed at the anterior end of the penis.

2. Pay attention to the strength of the surgical operation, if the injury is too big, the local swelling causes the urethra to be closed, or the urethra is directly injured, then it will lead to urinary retention.
