G protein-coupled receptor pathway: GC-cGMP-PKG

Summary

Extracellular signals are received by receptors and delivered to AC via Gs or Gi to activate or inhibit it; AC is activated to produce cAMP, which activates PKA, phosphorylating proteins and generating a cellular response; cAMP is hydrolyzed by PDE and the signal is terminated.
